Feedback

|---|---|
| The pirate runs, the ship sails | The pirate or the ship slows down and finally stops |
| Treasure chests can be opened | Treasure chests cannot be opened |
| The sun is shining | It starts to rain |

Feedback process
The feedback is shown through the progress of the game, which is linked to the brain bar and the progress bar (see Brain HUD).
If the selected factors are in the desired range, the brain bar fills up directly and without delay. If they are not, the brain bar drops until it is empty.
The progress bar is linked to the brain bar. If the brain bar stays in the positive range for a selected period of time, the progress bar builds up. When the progress bar is full, the player is rewarded with a special event. Similarly, if the brain bar stays in the negative range for a longer time, the progress bar fills up in the negative range until a special event informs the player.
| Positive special event | Negative special event |
|---|---|
| The pirate starts to run | The pirate stops and thunder begins |

Application, combination and typical reactions
This game is suitable for clients of all ages. It works as an introduction to the training and as a second component for winding down. A game takes about 10 minutes, and reaching the goal sets a clearly defined end.
Pirate Islands is one of the quiet games, as it is played without a controller. Still, the constantly changing environment offers many stimuli and keeps the client motivated by taking them on a journey. The game’s own music and sound effects accompany the play and reinforce the feedback.
| When in training | Combination with different feedback |
|---|---|
| Start or first half | No additional feedback recommended |
Gameplay, shop and upgrades
During the game the player collects coins whenever the feedback is positive and when opening treasure chests. The coins unlock new game characters.

Coin currency: 100 blue coins = 1 gold coin, 100 gold coins = 1 ruby. See Neuro Player System.
Shop – characters: new characters can be unlocked in the shop with the collected coins.

Progress bar: the milestone bar shows where the player is on the journey to the treasure and which sections are still ahead.

Philosophy and background
In Pirate Islands the player learns to keep calm even with many external stimuli, and to not let the mind wander but set their own goals despite the constant challenge.
